.Mark Cuban is a serial entrepreneur who has invested in a number of successful startups such as Slideshare, Mahalo, and others. He is best known as the founder of Broadcast.com (sold to Yahoo for about $4.6 billion) and the owner of the basketball team Dallas Mavericks.
When asked what’s the best business advice he ever got, Mark Cuban said:
It came from Bobby Knight when I was in college. He said “Everyone has the will to win, but it’s only those with the will to prepare that do win.”
Successful start-up businesses require a lot of work to get off the ground, let alone manage. Dreams and passion for the business are not enough to tide you over the many challenges that entrepreneurship will bring. You need a lot of preparation and hard work. As they say, success is “where preparation and opportunity meet.”
